This Autumn, Hollow Reed are proud to launch our inaugural New Writing Celebration, ‘Whispers from the Reed’. A project that exists with the sole purpose of assisting local writers to have their work realized and performed.
From a strong field of 40+ submissions by emerging writers and creatives across Belfast and Northern Ireland, our panel of local theatre-makers has selected four outstanding plays for production. These works will bridge the gap between a rehearsed reading and a fully realised show — staged on a tight budget yet elevated by the talent and creativity of a dedicated team of artists.
The Never Seen It Film Club is a special subscription membership for those who have never seen some of the classics of cinema and for those who’d love to see them one more time!

Performers, buy one ‘Performer Ticket’ per act.
Everyone else, buy an ‘Audience Ticket’!
If you’re a solo act, just buy a single Performer Ticket and you’re set. If you’re an act with more than one person, buy one Performer Ticket and as many extra Audience Tickets as you need to cover all your performers (so a trio needs 1 Performer Ticket and 2 Audience Tickets, for example).
Most performers find they have 10-12mins of actual performance time as slots are normally 15mins long total, including set-up and take-down time. If there are a lot of sign-ups in a given month, slots may be shorter and we may have to forgo the jam!
