Scratch
Scratch
An opportunity for artists to get involved to display their work-in-progress. Audiences will have a chance to give their feedback on what they think about each piece. Helping us understand how to shape and build new work and improve practice.
SCRATCH
Accidental are helping to host more Scratch Nights to assist fellow artists in displaying new pieces of performance work in development and get them in front of audiences for feedback. This fantastic scratch format of performing fresh, experimental theatre in-progress has already been pioneered around the world and we want artists here to also have the chance to test out the brilliant art they want to make here.
We want as many artists or groups who want to, to get involved to display their work-in-progress. Audiences will have a chance to give their feedback on what they think about each piece. Helping us understand how to shape and build new work and improve practice.
If you have some work you would like to perform at this or future events, get in touch here.

INTERESTED IN TAKING PART IN OUR SCRATCH NIGHTS? HERE OUR SOME TESTIMONIES FROM PREVIOUS ARTISTS.
“Accidental Theatre have been a pleasure and a blessing to work with. I have put two shows on their Scratch Nights and hired their facilities to make a short film. The staff are incredibly helpful and supporting. The staff are indeed creative and talented themselves and so, they share the enthusiasm in projects, which just makes it all the more fun. Jade, who heads the Scratch team, is very responsive (not to mention very funny), and is always willing and able to help with productions. The team have fabulous resources to promote your shows and encourage engagement from the wider community. In that sense, they do offer you a full package to make sure your shows are every bit the success. I'm looking forward to doing more projects with them in the future and I would encourage other to do the same.” - Omar Gunnoo
“As a three person production team of two writers and a musical director, we had no idea how to get our show idea off the ground. The fact that something like Scratch at Accidental exists, allowed us to get the springboard we needed. The support that was given was amazing and it gave our small cast and team a real sense of theatre workshopping in a manageable way. The team at Accidental did everything they could and provided us with excellent facilities to showcase our piece. As a result of our Scratch performance, we are now fully workshopping our work and taking it to London's West End for a one off performance. This is all because Accidental believed in what we had. We are very grateful to them.” - Diarmuid McLaughlin
“I wrote a script which I forward to several theatres. One theatre came back to me and mentioned scratch Nights. I was unaware what this was , so i did my research and if your script was chosen out of a line up, it would be performed on a live stage in front of everyone. Which happened to me and it was performed by some wonderful actors. They made themselves proud. It's an experience that your never forget. So I would like to thank all the staff at Accidental for making this dream come true. Since then a my play has been on Radio Wiltshire, so if your a script writer take your play to Accidental Scratch.” - Samantha Read
