The Band cites many musical influences. From contemporary West Coast Garage Psychedelic Rockers Ty Segall and OSEES and the San Francisco Experimental, Noise Punk Pop outfit Deerhoof, to the older Avant-Garde DADA Rock Pioneer Captain Beefheart and German 70’s Experimental Rock band CAN, to the more electronic side of Berlin era Bowie and the nightmarish side of Tom Waits Bone Machine. As with all Lovers of Music, this list details only a snapshot of the vast tundra of overlapping musical styles influencing Bon Ton Rouler.
In 2021 the band released their Debut Album, “Bondage”, the first of two sister albums – “Eat Crow” was released at the end of 2022. Since then a stream of singles have been released including a collaboration with Irish Electronic Music Producer Ciaran McCarthy AKA Suburban Dream for the Hip Hop infused “Is This Really How It Is?”
Bon Ton Rouler are Mick Major & Peter Drinkwater.
Mick is lead guitarist, vocalist and chief instigator. A flamboyant live performer whose propulsive frenzied guitar playing, energised and chaotic, sets the pace from start to finish and leaves no room for unbelievers. Pete, on rhythm guitar, is a longtime collaborator of Mick’s and a cofounder of Freakin’ Shams.
In The past Mick’s Music has been showcased on the RTE 2 FM Dave Fanning Show and Bon Ton Rouler is regularly play listed on the Rock Show on The 90’s Network 98.4FM by Emma D-Radio and various online radio shows such as pMad radio who hosts the best of Irish Indie on LCR FM.
