Caminando Tango
We are Gabriele, Federica, and Maeve.
Gabriele and Federica started dancing tango around ten years ago and their passion for Argentine tango just kept growing over the years. They took classes with many Argentine teachers in Belfast and Buenos Aires. What gives us most pleasure is to dance everywhere we go, we never leave home without our dance shoes!
The project Caminando Tango is born out of the desire to promote this wonderful dance among young people, sharing what they have learnt, and keep learning, along their tango path. Their classes keep a focus on connection, improvisation and musicality. They aim at creating a fun and effective learning environment where everyone feels welcome while learning to dance tango.
Maeve has joined the team of Caminando Tango and become resident teacher since January 2020.
Maeve is a dancer from Ireland whose main practices are tango, Argentine folklore, and contemporary dance. She is a resident teacher for Tango Fever school in London as well as regularly hosting workshops in Cambridge and Scotland alone and with partners including Slava Ivanov, Emilio Cornejo, Viní Flores and Tomás Corbalan.
In class her focus lies in looking for clean, clear technique in order to allow for freedom and creativity in improvisation......and to enjoy the process!
She holds a first class honours degree from London Contemporary Dance School, was awarded the Charlotte Kirkpatrick Award for Exceptional Potential as a Dance Artist in 2016, regularly performs with the contemporary dance companies Moxie Brawl and Maiden Voyage, and maintains a curiosity about movement and relationships in all her practices leading to a life full questions, continuous learning and sharing.
