Darren McCay & Max Roddy: Live in Belfast Accidental Theatre, Belfast Friday 20th December Get ready for a Christmas night out that’s pure Derry mayhem!
Two of the city’s finest comedy exports, Darren McCay and Max Roddy, join forces for a one-off joint headline show packed with laughs, stories, and all the sharp Derry wit you can handle. Fresh from his hit solo show “Ye Canny Make Me”, Darren McCay has established himself as a powerful force in Northern Irish comedy. With razor-sharp observational skills and storytelling that turns the everyday into the unforgettable, Darren’s tales will have you doubled over in laughter before you even realise how relatable they are.
Max Roddy, meanwhile, has been blazing his own trail — with two solo shows in just 16 months and an incredible 30 million online views in two years, he’s one of the most exciting young voices in comedy. His boundless energy, natural charm, and perfectly chaotic humour make him the ideal partner in crime for Darren.
Max Roddy has quickly become a staple of the Derry comedy scene. Known for his brutally honest, zero filter take on life Max blends vulnerability with no holds barred stories of his own history as a self described "recovering hallion" ...much to the dismay of his mother Joanie Fresh off the back of 2 solo shows (Clean Man and Peter Pan) break out star Max has his sights set on extending his already loyal Derry following accross the UK. In just 14 months, Max Roddy has blazed through the Millennium Forum, stormed St. Columb's Hall, and even survived the Scouse madness at Liverpool’s Hot Water Comedy Club. If there’s a stage, he’s lit it up—sometimes with jokes, sometimes by making people cry laughing." If you haven’t seen Max Roddy live yet, now’s the time!
Though separated by a few years, the pair share the kind of bond that’s pure Derry gold — like an uncle who can’t stop winding up his nephew. Their chemistry, quick-fire banter, and love of the craic make this the perfect festive comedy night out before the calm of Christmas Day. Expect belly laughs, brilliant storytelling, and big Derry energy as these two bring their best material to Belfast for one night only. Derry Boys: Darren McCay & Max Roddy – Live at the Accidental Theatre, Belfast, 20th December. A night of comedy not to be missed — the perfect gift to yourself before Christmas!
