This course provides a practical introduction to live streaming for artists, performers, organisations, and content creators who want to broadcast events professionally and creatively. Participants will learn how to plan, set up, and deliver live streams that are engaging, reliable, and appropriate for different audiences and platforms. The training combines technical skills with creative and production considerations, supporting participants to confidently live stream performances, talks, workshops, and hybrid events.

Designed for artists, filmmakers, and digital storytellers, the course balances hands-on experimentation with critical reflection, supporting learners to confidently plan, capture, and evaluate immersive video content. Across three structured sessions, participants will move from core concepts and tools through real-world filming, concluding with a reflective review that consolidates learning and supports future development.

Shona will talk about her life in the cultural sector, the hurdles jumped, lessons learned, moments of despair and joy and why she would do it all again. She will answer questions and is happy to give helpful insights on her experience of delivering festivals and events both home and abroad.

DIY Filmmaking: a crash course! Learn how to make the most of the film studio in your pocket. This course will provide a background and practical skills to shooting a 'no-budget' DIY short using your mobile phone/ iPads. Across three sessions participants will learn about DIY and radical filmmaking styles and approaches, come up with and design a '2 minute masterpiece idea' shoot and edit it together! This course will provide expertise in how to bring an idea to life quickly and effectively and a starting point for developing camera and editing skills!

Across three structured sessions, participants will move from core concepts and tools through real-world sound recording and post-production mixing and mastering, concluding with a reflective review that consolidates learning and supports future development.

This one-off course is an introduction to equipping participants with practical knowledge and confidence to navigate fees, contracts, and working conditions within industry-standard and unionised environments.

Participants will learn where to find rates, how to negotiate fair changes, and interpreting contracts. Emphasis is placed on worker awareness—understanding personal boundaries, valuing your labour, and identifying what conditions and compensation are acceptable to you.
