First Rehearsed Reading

April 13th, 2010

Last week saw our first rehearsed reading, The Writers’ Room by Michael Shannon, and I was very happy with how it went. Great turn out and it was a lot of fun to chat to everyone over a glass of wine, or two, afterwards. Michael’s play was a great start to the series, with fantastic mixture of dark humour and drama.

Next week sees us start final preparation for our next reading, Leopoldville by Jaki McCarrick. This excellent play has an all-male cast, and we have now confirmed our casting for this. It’ll be great to get stuck into the next reading!

A New Site

April 6th, 2010

Welcome to our new website, created by the fellas at Element Studio. This site will be the hub of Accidental’s online world, were you can come to see what we’re up to, what’s on right now and what we’re doing in the future. Along with pictures, videos and articles from our shows.

The new website marks the beginning of our new year and the emergence of Accidental as a full company. In the coming weeks we will have launched a series of 6 rehearsed readings, we’ll have formed our first board of directors and we’ll be working to develop our work in new areas. I’d like to welcome Emily DeDakis to the team, as our Literary Manager, she’ll be working to develop our new writing program and is a great addition to the team. Check out her blog for more information.

There are two major projects we’ll be working on this year:

VI

Our rehearsed readings: 6 readings over the next 6 months.

&

The Designated Mourner

A full production, staged in an art gallery here in Belfast, in conjunction with an exhibition inspired by the play.

In addition to these larger projects, we’ll be creating several smaller ones, so keep your eye out or subscribe to our mailing list for more information.

2010 will be an exciting year for us, so come along to our shows or get involved by giving us a shout…
